Short version

We collect as little data as we can while still making the app work. We never sell personal data. Location and audio never leave your device unless you explicitly opt in.

What we collect

• Email — only if you sign up for the newsletter or buy a guide. We use it to send you a receipt and (if you opted in) our weekly travel tips.
• Payment info — never touched by us. Processed by Stripe.
• Anonymous usage — page views, referrer, city. Used to prioritize which cities to build next.
• Location (on-device only) — when you tap "Start Walking" we read GPS to trigger audio for the nearest stop. Coordinates never leave your phone.
• Cookies — a small unlock token if you've paid, so you don't have to log in every time you open a guide.

What we don't collect

• Your name (unless you type it yourself into a form).
• Contacts, calendar, camera, microphone.
• Any location outside the walk itself.
• Health data, financial data beyond the Stripe transaction.

Third-party services

• Stripe — payment processing. See stripe.com/privacy.
• Vercel — website hosting.
• Mailgun — email delivery.
• Emerald — anonymous attribution analytics (visitor counts, not individual identity).
• Yesim, Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Kiwi.com, DiscoverCars, SafetyWing, Amazon — affiliate partners. Clicking their links opens their sites; we may earn a commission if you buy. We never share your email or purchase history with them.

Your rights

You can email info@traveltips.travel any time to:

• See what data we have on you.
• Correct it or delete it entirely.
• Unsubscribe from the newsletter (one-click in every email).
• Cancel your account.

We respond within 5 business days. If you're in the EU, this is GDPR-compliant; if in California, CCPA-compliant.

Children

TravelTips is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe we have, email us immediately and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we ever change this policy, the "Effective" date at the top moves and existing users get an email a week before the change takes effect. No surprises.
